Imagine receiving your next armchair at home, in an envelope. Stemming from a research project at ECAL’s Master Product Design department, UPS – Under Pressure Solutions proposes a radical and new approach to the challenge of the transportation of manufactured objects, imagining a lightweight compressed furniture system made of cellulose foam. This quite common biosourced and biodegradable material had virtually never been explored in the field of furniture and object design.
