Existential Boner is a book about obsessions related to the body, identity and sexuality. Mahalia Taje Giotto began their transition two years ago through changes they experienced on a daily basis. While working on this project, they realized that these evolutions had been present from the very beginning of their existence, but repressed during childhood for lack of reference models. Through the making of this project, Taje realizes that they have always been a transgender person, and this project offers them the necessary space to affirm their journey through representation.
Between joy and pain, order and anarchy, existential boner rises from overwhelming chaos with a manifesto celebrating identities with strength, pride and love.
