Type Bulletin #9

This Type Bulletin has been designed by Rebekka Hausmann and Antoine Pasi, and meticulously printed at ECAL by Benjamin Plantier.

All the typefaces used in this publication were designed by students, including the font used for information text, Modern Gothic, a diploma project by Malte Bentzen. These are just some highlights from a more extensive body of work. All the typefaces used in this publication have been designed by students graduating from the 2025 Master Type Design program, with additional contributions from first-year students.

The Japanese hiragana (きゅう) on the cover reads ‘kyuu’ and means ‘nine’ They have been designed by Jamie Michiki and appear next to a circled 9 numeral, by Jonathan Bruun. The sample texts come from the respective theses of graduates. The translations have been made with online tools, with proofreading by Ruslan Abasov (Russian, Turkish), Krisztina Bolcsik (Hungarian), Claudio Bolzonello and Elena Calò (Italian), Ratchanon Boongsrithong (Thai), Jonathan Bruun (Danish), Matthieu Cortat-Roller (French), Meryem Fekhari and Saba Yousef (Arabic), Katarzina Friedrich (Polish), Rebekka Hausmann (German), Lina Kaltenberg (Swedish), Maria Kosheleva (Chuvash), Diego Steiner (Spanish), Stephanie Wilson (Dutch), and Nir Zabari Yenni (Hebrew).
